This Week: Next Unit...Identity and Renewal
Monday: Please read the story "Drinking Coffee Elsewhere" by ZZ Packer on page 1065. There will be a quiz on the reading tomorrow.
Tuesday - Quiz and discussion of ZZ Packer's story.
Wednesday - Poetry about identity and renewal. Classwork: The Poetry of Sylvia Plath.

This Week: March 17-21
Monday - We will discuss the story "Where are You Going, Where Have You Been?" and explore the cultural connections in the story. You will work on discussion questions in a group. The questions will be checked tomorrow for a homework grade. If you are absent, please download below.

This Week: March 10-14
Monday - We will be finishing our critical perspectives in the library computer lab. All papers are due tomorrow, unless you have made previous arrangements with me.
Tuesday - We begin our next unit: Childhood and Adolescence. We will be starting with the short story "The Rocking Horse Winner" by D.H. Lawrence. If you are absent, read the story in your anthology for class tomorrow.
Homework: Finish reading the story. There will be a reading quiz tomorrow.

Wednesday: Quiz. We will also answer some discussion questions based on the story.If you are absent please download the homework questions below and complete.

Thursday-Friday - We will continue the unit on Childhood and Adolescence by reading "Where are You Going, Where Have You Been?" by Joyce Carol Oates. If you are absent, the story is on page 977 of your text, or find it online. Read the entire story by Monday. Be prepared to discuss.

This Week: March 3-7
Monday: We will watch the rest of Alfred Hitchcock Presents "A Dip in the Pool" by Roald Dahl, and we will review your homework questions.
Tuesday - Thursday: ASSESSMENT! Your first literary analysis will be assigned. You will be given three days in class to work on the paper, plus any time you need at home. We will be in the library computer lab on Friday and Monday of next week to finish the papers. Papers are due Monday. Please review the assignment carefully: CLICK HERE .
